[699-14] - Chase driving an MATV, a newer version of the old MRAP also known as the (Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected) enroute to resupply one of his company checkpoints in Afghanistan during his second tour in 2010.

[699-15] - "Our convoy in Afghanistan in 2010 driving a MATV on our way to help give support to 2nd platoon who just came under fire from enemy fighters. The truck in the photo is mine. We passed another convoy heading back to camp Leather Neck after resupplying 2nd platoon when they came under fire from small arms weapons. Not long after this photo was taken our front vehicle ran over an IED. The buildings you see to the left is a small house somebody lives in. the one to the right would have been a shed for drying crops or storage. I can't remember the machine gunners name in the turret up top."

[699-16] - Crowder behind the wheel of his MATV in Afghanistan 2010 waiting on EOD to come dispose of an IED found in the rode. "We sat for 6 hours before they showed up. Once they dug up the explosives and remove the pressure plate it was safe to pass. We were on our way to Op Thunder Dome to resupply on ammo and chow. Above my head is a drop down night vision screen that can be used to drive at night in pitch black for stealth missions if need be. The big green boxes in the center is our radio and computer for communication purposes."

[699-17] - Chase and his machine gunner "waiting in the bazaar (market) after we pushed back enemy fighters to help the civilians return to the market for food and what ever else they might need. To the left you can see some bananas for sale. I can't remember the machine gunners name because they never stayed in the same vehicle long enough to remember. The machine gun used in our truck is a M-240B belt fed weapon. We were vehicle number 3 in a group of 5 or 6 vehicles."

[699-18] - Chase in Afghanistan 2008 on his first tour. "The truck behind me is a armored 7 ton used to carry up to 14-20 marines to and from any location. We were using it as a check point post for stopping vehicles and setting up our defense just in case of an enemy attack. To the left is an open field of wheat, every morning a man and his son would be harvesting as much wheat as they could by hand till the sun went down."

[699-19] - Crowder on his "first tour in 2008 driving a armored 7-ton after a 22hr drive through the desert of Afghanistan. We had a convoy of ten 7 tons and with 14 - 20 marines in each vehicle on our way to a British out post. The next day after this photo was taken, a plane was dropping supplies out the back with parachutes for the British and a huge crate of water smashed on the desert floor from about 8000ft."
