A New Jersey native and a photographer in civilian life, Mr. Logue served as a radio/telephone operator in 1969 and 1970 in Company A, 4th Battalion, 31st Infantry, 196th Light Infantry Brigade, 23rd Infantry Division (Americal) based on LZ West. He spent much of his tour of duty on missions in the dangerous Hip Dc Valley, saw several of his buddies killed, and survived extended mortar attacks and numerous firefights. After awhile, he says, soldiers began not to care whether they lived or died. After Vietnam, Mr. Logue, now of Osteen, Florida, spent most of his career as a portrait photographer. While in Vietnam, he took photographs of daily life around him, and self-published, A Collection of Images from 1969-1970: Vietnam, Hip Dc, LZ West (blurb.com: 2010).
