Chuck Fulco was born in 1937 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Charles R. Fulco, Sr. and Helena Naomi Miller Fulco. His family owned the Standard Printing Company in Shreveport. When he was young he was inspired by Hank Williams and would walk over to the Municipal Auditorium to see him perform. At Northwestern State University of Louisiana he was in a band called The Impacts and after graduating from college, he began playing music professionally with his own group which included Johnny Broussard. He played bass, harmonica and guitar. In Shreveport The Impacts would play on the weekends at Byrd High School and various clubs like the Dart Lounge. He also sang on the Bossier Strip and the Pelican Club on Barksdale Boulevard. Sometimes he would go the Hayride to watch Slim Whitman, Lefty Frizzell and the Bales Brothers. Later he was able to play with many great musicians like Tommy Tomlinson, Johnny Horton's guitar player, and Tillman Franks who was Johnny's bass player. He began his booking agency in 1961 because he had so many jobs he could not fill them all. He began Inner South Entertainment in 1972. His favorite song is Wind Beneath My Wings and his favorite artists are Lee Greenwood, The drifters, Clyde McPhatter, Irma Thomas and James Burton. Chuck has five children, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. |
