Anthony J. Cascio was born in 1937 in Shreveport to Connie and Albert J. Cascio. His mother was born in Sicily, Italy and his father was born in Mississippi. His parents met in Shreveport, Louisiana and his father was an insurance salesman and later began his night club and grocery store businesses. He has one sister and growing up he worked in the grocery store with his parents. He graduated from Fair Park High School in 1956. In the `50's he began listening to rock `n roll and blues and in the early `60s he played with Little Mo and the Movers at the Diamond Head. AJ was employed by the railroad for thirty-two years and after retirement, he got back into music at Tommy's Place where he played the harmonica and sang with the band. He and his son Tony began the band, AJ and the Two Timers around 1996. They play at the Noble Savage and Lee's in Shreveport and have played festivals around the country including the Ledbetter Festival at the Municipal Auditorium, the Highland Jazz and Blues Festival, the King Biscuit Blues Festival in Helena, Arkansas and the T-Bone Walker Festival in Linden, Texas. They also played the International Blues Competition in Memphis. AJ and his band have recorded two CDs and a DVD and the band has a website, TwotoneBlues.com. He and his wife have four children, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
