Robin Vosbury was born in Houston, Texas in 1961 to Dave and Juanita Vosbury he has one brother. When he was young, his mother played music and taught guitar at Wurlein's and Walker and Rodie Music as well as teaching guitar from home. She traveled with the Jimmy Davis Band, Paul Howard and the Arkansas Cotton Pickers, recorded for RCA Records, played on the Grand Ole Opry and had songs published by Tree Publishing. Growing up his father owned swimming pool companies and Robin worked for him helping to build pools. His first stage appearance was in El Dorado, Arkansas at the Rogers High School auditorium when he was three years old. Later Robin would play at the Keithville Jamboree where he hosted the television show. Robin was only nine or ten years old when he played at the Municipal Auditorium with some of the old Hayride artists like Slim Whitman. He was influenced by southern rockers like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Charlie Daniels, ZZ Top and a local, Kenny McCarty. He began playing in night clubs at the age of fifteen. Robin graduated from Huntington High School in Shreveport, Louisiana and at nineteen, he and his band, The Crawdads, began working for BB Watson and toured forty-nine states, four provinces of Canada, and Mexico. They opened for Exile and George Jones and served as the band for Randy Travis and Alan Jackson early in their careers. He retired from touring in 1982 but went on to play in Nashville with BB Watson and on various shows including, Ralph Emery, Crook & Chase and Hee Haw in the 1990's. He has recorded with Claude King and James Burton and continues to record digitally in his own studio at home. While Robin still plays and records music, he has worked as a truck driver and a police officer. His son Cole is very talented and has been playing in piano bars and has a trio who plays on the west coast. He and his wife Karla have six children and six grandchildren.
