Lois Nancy Fraver Menscer Munday was born in 1951. Her husband, William David Menscer, was born in 1949. They met at North Iredell High School before David joined the army in 1968. He went to Fort Bragg for basic training, was promoted to Corporal in 1969 and then to Sergeant. They married in June of 1969, a month before he was deployed to Vietnam. In Vietnam, he was assigned to the 1^st Division Alpha Company 1^st of the 28^th Infantry and then to the 1^st of the 26^th and finally to the 4^th Battalion, 31^st Infantry, 196^th Light Brigade. They had one child, William David Menscer, Jr., who was born three months before David was killed in action in May of 1970.
