Ronald G. German was born in Dallas, Texas in 1945 to Bernard and Gretell German. Ronald's father worked for the post office after serving in the army during WWII and his mother worked in the insurance business. While in high school he served in the National Defense Cadet Corps. Ronald went to work for the power company after graduation from Bryan Adams High School and married in December of 1963. He received his draft notice in 1969 and went to Fort Bliss for basic training and to Fort Ord, California for AIT. After arriving at Ton San Nhut Airbase, he served in Alpha Company 4th Battalion 31st Infantry. He carried an M-79 grenade launcher and was also RTO. When he returned from Vietnam, he was an MP at Fort Dix, New Jersey. After leaving the army, he returned to work for the Koegle & Associates engineering firm. Deciding to get his license, Ronald earned a degree in mechanical engineering from UT Arlington, later opening Ron German, Consulting Engineer. |
